Rod "Rambo" Lenette (10th February, 1967- 23rd May, 2017) [3] was a British professional champion armwrestler.  

Life and Career

Lenette began armwrestling in 1986 while serving in the British Army, being initially trained by Clive Myers.[1] A multiple time British, European, and world champion, Lenette was diagnosed with lipodystrophy, diabetes and pancreatitis at the age of 25.[1] In 2003 he suffered kidney failure, and needed dialysis for six years before a kidney transplant was available.[2] In 2011, he was the subject of the documentary I'm Back, chronicling his recovery and comeback to the sport.[1] He designed an arm wrestling table called The Grappler.[2]

His notable British National Championship placings include: 1st (R, 85kg division) 1993; 1st (R, 85kg), 1st (L, 90kg) and 3rd (R, overall) 1999; 1st (R, 85kg) 1st (L, 90kg) 2000.[3]

Lenette died on May 23rd, 2017 at the age of 50.[4]
